Miley Cyrus: not Just Another Girl on TV
The 14-year-old Miley Cyrus has grown from just being simply phenomenal to a household name around the world. Playing Hannah Montana on the Disney series has made her into a successful pop tween idol, and has made millions of followers flock to her shows and watch her appearances. One thing that makes Cyrus stand out though, is that her popularity isn't because of her DUIs or scandals, but because of her pure talent and humility, a combination absent in more if not some of the celebrities today.
She was asked about how she feels with the massive success she's experiencing right now and she said, "I guess from watching my dad [Billy Cyrus]…just because he takes everything one step at a time and it's kind of what he's taught me to [do]… not get yourself wrapped up in everything that you can't get to bring yourself back to reality."
"And when I do see myself kinda slipping …just kinda caught in a little box I've been put in," Miley Cyrus added. "I got to do something that kinda sends me out the box and makes me different …makes me not another girl on TV but also relate with everyone I'm with."
She has not only established herself as a young idol, but has also made it clear that she isn't and will not be caught up in the Hollywood glitz and glamour. She said that she's in it for her passion in music, and "not about the money."
Recently, the Hannah Montana actress and her father, Billy Ray Cyrus guest starred on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where the young star talked about an incident where she was caught playing on the sidewalk outside Starbucks. She said that she did that for the sake of responsibility and for her love of music.
"The reason I was on the street was because I got in serous trouble because I lost my credit card that I just gotten. And I was learning responsibility and how to take care of it and so I had no money," Miley Cyrus explained. "And I really want to go shopping so I played at Starbucks and just put my guitar open and I made $7…so I got me a Starbucks."
